Pongal Carnival 2026
Hindustan International School, Karapakkam hosted a vibrant and culturally rich Pongal Carnival on 10 January 2026, celebrating the spirit of tradition, gratitude, and togetherness. The carnival brought together students, parents, and teachers in a joyful community celebration, reflecting the essence of the harvest festival.
The Pongal Carnival witnessed the enthusiastic participation of nearly 1,000 parents, making it a vibrant community celebration.
- Students set up a variety of creative and interactive stalls, adding colour, excitement, and a festive atmosphere to the event.
- Traditional attractions such as a bullock cart ride offered a glimpse into rural heritage and farming traditions.
- Lively folk performances including Mayilattam, Oyilattam, Pulliyattam, Silambam, Villu Pattu, Thappattam,and folk songs captivated the audience.
- Uriyadi and Pot Painting competitions were conducted exclusively for parents, encouraging active participation and adding fun-filled moments to the celebration.
- The carnival beautifully blended cultural heritage, student creativity, and parent involvement, leaving everyone with joyful festive memories.
The carnival served as a platform for students to showcase their creativity, organizational skills, and respect for cultural heritage. Through performances and stall activities, students demonstrated teamwork, confidence, and a deep understanding of traditional values.
A highlight of the day was a Tree planting ceremony by the Chairman -Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese
